And it felt great

Man, I was such an immature brat back then, and don't want to be associated with those days.
I might restore it if I get nostalgic, but....that probably won't happen.

....I really don't post much, anywhere, or interact with a lot of people. Or contribute to fandom, or any online communities.

I'm seriously debating whether or not to try to be more...whatever the online equivalent of "social" is. I'm just worried about making a fool of myself again, like I did years ago. I'd like to think I've grown up since then, but....

Yeah, I know no one really checks my journal here, but as of the past few months, the only real reason I've been using this site is for anon memes. Not sure if I'll be posting in my personal journal much, but I might post non-anon in some other coms every now and then.

Well, since my last journal, I discovered that this place is actually very much still alive, I just needed to find the right places. Huh.

So, disregard my last journal.

I don't know. A few years ago, this whole site seemed so...happening. And now that I decided to come back to it, seems like everyone has moved on. A bunch of the communities I used to watch seem haven't been touched in years, and it seems like everyone has changed so much since I fell out of contact with them. Well, the few who haven't left long ago, that is.

I guess there are a few popular places here still, but I just can't get into the new fandoms. Why is it my interests always feel so static, while everyone else seems to constantly find something new to obsess over?

Oh, and I know if anyone does read this, they may be thinking "Tumblr's where it's at now!". Well, as addicted as I am to lurking tumblr, I just don't feel at home there. There are a bunch of cliques there in which I really wish I belonged, but I just don't. And even if I did want to try to join in, the whole reblogging system makes interacting with others quite frustrating.

I don't know. Online communities just aren't what they used to be....

So I took a look at some of the default themes, and finally settled (for now) on one that didn't hurt my eyes. The thing is, it still feels so.... impersonal.

So I was wondering, LJ-users, if any of you know much about customizing journals. How did you come up with your theme? Any advice you could offer?

So I decided I'd like a fresh start on this site.

I'm still thinking about what to do with the customization of this journal, but no worries. I'll hopefully have it all personalized in no time!

Now off to find people and communities!
